Diagnostic tools such as spirometry, electrocardiography (ECG), ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) and home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) are vital for identifying underlying health conditions and improving your Health. At GP2Health we will play a crucial role in the early detection, management and prevention of your long term illnesses
We also offer suggested and tailored health screening options for men and women
Spirometry is a common lung function test used to measure how well your lungs work by assessing the amount (volume) of air you inhale and exhale, as well as how quickly you can expel air from your lungs. It is often used to diagnose and monitor lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other respiratory disorders.
An Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that records the electrical activity inside the heart over time. It is used to detect heart problems and monitor heart health. The ECG traces the heart’s rhythm and electrical impulses as waves on a graph, helping us identify irregularities in the heart's function.
The Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) is a non-invasive test used to assess peripheral arterial disease (PAD), which affects blood flow to the limbs. The test compares the blood pressure in the ankle with the blood pressure in the arm (brachial artery). The ratio of these two measurements provides the ABPI.
Home (HBPM) and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) are methods used to measure blood pressure continuously over a 24-hour period while a person goes about their normal daily activities. You will be given a device from GP2Health to wear or use. These techniques provides a more accurate picture of a person's blood pressure compared to readings taken in a clinical setting.
Sperm count analysis is essential when we investigate difficulties getting pregnant, but many men have concerns about their sperm counts well before this point. In partnership with The Centre for Life in Newcastle we are now able to answer your questions and make suggestions on how to improve your sperm counts.

Yes. An interpretation will be available for all tests will within your medical records. A further explanation can be given, if you wish, in person during a 15 minute consultation. No. You can simply request that the test be conducted as a diagnostic procedure only. The prices do not include a medical interpretation. If there is a significantly abnormal or dangerous result we will inform you free of charge with advice on what to do next. If you would like to have medial interpretation and how this links to your health with a plan to improve matters, we would suggest a 30 minute consultation.
You will be given advice on how exactly to measure your blood pressures, for how long and when to return the device. For ABPM the device is usually returned within 2 days, for HBPM this is usually 1 week. A deposit of £100 will be held whilst our equipment is in your possession.
It is your responsibility to look after the device, like it was your own possession. We pride ourselves in looking after our equipment and making sure it works perfectly well for the next patient. We kindly ask therefore a £100 deposit which will be fully refunded once the machine is returned.
If you click on the "learn more" tab at the bottom of the test it will take you to a YouTube link which we believe best explains what to expect. There may be some minor differences to how we go about the same test at GP2Health. If you find your question is not answered, please contact us.
