Accurate Allergy Testing
In collaboration with Randox, with over 40 years of experience in diagnostics, GP2Health now provides a complete allergy blood testing service. This service helps identify allergies by measuring allergen-specific IgE antibodies in the blood, giving accurate information about a patient’s sensitisation to common food and environmental triggers.
The testing is straightforward, requiring only a simple blood sample. It is designed to work alongside a doctor’s consultation and examination, helping to confirm or rule out IgE-mediated (Type I) allergy. We use tiered test panels, starting with a broad screening test and moving to more detailed panels if needed. This flexible approach makes testing efficient and cost-effective, while covering the most common allergens seen in UK and European primary care.
Importantly, the test is safe and practical in situations where traditional skin prick testing is not possible or reliable. This includes patients who are already taking antihistamines, those with active eczema, or when there is concern about triggering an allergic reaction during testing.
Results from these tests can help guide treatment, avoid unnecessary investigations.
