The fat deep to the Achilles Tendon (Kagers Fat Pad) is separated with a combination of sterile fluid (Saline with local anaesthetic) and in more difficult cases a bladed needle. This is great for patients who have repeated long term Achilles pain. Steroid is sometimes used to settle any inflammation.
